The National Security Committee of Kazakhstan succeeded in preventing a terrorist attack in Almaty city. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the committee's press service, five foreign nationals were identified in the terrorist group preparing to carry out the crime, and they were detained during the preparation stage of the attack. In September and October, eight Kazakhstani citizens suspected of promoting terrorism were arrested.
In the last two months, six people have been found guilty by the court of terrorist and extremist crimes. Since the beginning of the year, a total of 89 individuals, including six foreigners, have been held accountable for such crimes.
Additionally, members of the organization studied the characteristics of explosive substances and toxic agents; four of them went to Syria and joined terrorist groups operating there. Furthermore, at the beginning of September this year, a court verdict was delivered against 20 supporters of subversive organizations in Uzbekistan.
These incidents once again confirm the importance of combating terrorism in the countries. The measures taken by the national security agencies are aimed at ensuring public peace and safety.
