
A 7-story residential building collapsed in Gebze city, Kocaeli province, Turkey. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The incident occurred on the morning of October 29. According to official information, one family was trapped under the rubble due to the collapse of the building.
As a result of the tragedy, two children died, and another girl was rescued alive and taken to the hospital. More than 600 rescuers and firefighters, as well as special equipment, were involved at the scene.
Currently, it is being investigated whether there are other people among the debris. Experts are analyzing the causes that led to the collapse of the building.
In particular, the condition of the foundation, construction quality, and surrounding infrastructure works are being thoroughly examined. The government has established a special commission to study this tragedy in detail.
At present, security measures have been strengthened in Gebze city. It has also been reported that the technical condition of all buildings is being rechecked.
