An explosion occurred during Friday prayers in Jakarta, the capital of Indonesia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to local officials, more than 50 people were injured as a result of the incident. The event took place at the mosque of State Secondary School No. 27 located in the Kelapa Gading district in the northern part of the city.

Since mostly students were present in the mosque at that time, it is reported that the majority of the injured are teenagers. Initial information indicates that the explosion occurred near the mosque's sound amplification system.

However, no official information has yet been provided about the exact cause of the explosion. It is speculated that the incident may have been caused by an electrical system malfunction or a homemade explosive device.

After the explosion, ambulance and rescue services arrived at the scene. The injured were immediately taken to nearby hospitals.

The police announced that an investigation into the incident has been launched. Currently, the area around the mosque is closed off, security camera footage is being reviewed, and witnesses are being questioned.

The cause of the incident remains unknown. Relevant authorities continue their investigation.
