A magnetic storm is expected to intensify on Earth in the coming hours. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to experts, the storm's strength may reach level G3. This was reported by the Space Research Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Solar Astronomy Laboratory of the Institute of Solar-Terrestrial Physics.
Although the Earth's magnetosphere is currently relatively calm, the situation can change rapidly. Scientists emphasize that magnetic storms have reactivated since this morning.
Currently, they remain at levels G1-G2. However, within the next one or two hours, these storms are likely to intensify and reach level G3.
According to experts, the initial signs of this process are already being observed. Magnetic storms are divided into five levels: starting from the weakest G1 level up to the extremely strong G5 level.
Current changes in the magnetic field are related to the influence of solar plasma clouds and the activity of a coronal hole directed towards Earth. Previous modeling results indicated that the storm would not exceed level G4.
However, if the situation changes and a direct hit occurs on Earth, the storm's strength could possibly reach the maximum level G5.
