“Miss Universe 2025” contest started with controversies
The “Miss Universe 2025” contest, one of the most prestigious beauty pageants worldwide, is being held in Bangkok, Thailand. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

However, from the very first days, the contest was remembered more for major scandals than for the beauty competition itself. This was reported by the “International Business Times.”

The grand welcoming ceremony held on November 5 was marked by unexpected events. The contest’s vice-president, Navat Itsaragrisil, publicly criticized the “Miss Mexico” representative Melisse Flores, who did not participate in the sponsorship photoshoot, calling her “stupid.”

Following these harsh words, the atmosphere in the hall changed, and many participants left the event in protest. It is said that the incident occurred during a live broadcast.

Security personnel were even ordered to remove the Mexican representative from the event. In response, Melisse Flores left the stage and expressed her dissatisfaction through an open statement.

She stated: “I live in the 21st century, and no one has the right to treat me like a doll. This contest is not just about beauty, but about giving women a voice.” Additionally, Victoria Kay Tailwig, the winner of “Miss Universe 2024,” also supported Melisse Flores and announced that she left the event.

These incidents sparked widespread discussions on social media. For reference, the “Miss Universe” contest is being held for the 74th time.

This year, representatives from 79 countries are participating. The winner of the 2025 contest was the Czech model Natali Pushkinova.

Representatives from Colombia and Cuba were awarded special prizes.
