New Year holidays in Russia last for 12 days
The New Year holidays in 2025-2026 are expected to be the longest celebration in the last 12 years. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

These days off will last until January 11. This was reported by RIA Novosti, citing Svetlana Bessarab, a member of the State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy, and Veterans Affairs.

According to Svetlana Bessarab, long holidays have become customary in Russia since 2013. However, usually these holidays did not exceed 10 or 11 days.

In 2026, the holidays will last until January 11, and workers will return to work only on January 12. Thus, this time Russians will have the opportunity to rest for 12 days.

The start of the holidays falls on the last week of December. During this week, citizens are expected to work only on December 29 and 30.

From December 31, the almost two-week New Year holidays begin. This long break will be a good opportunity not only to spend family time but also to joyfully and pleasantly welcome the New Year.
