A unique event that took place in Berlin, Germany attracted the attention of both local and international communities. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
A local woman gave birth to five babies at the same time. This event occurred at the end of September in one of the country's major medical institutions — the “Charité” clinic.
The delivery was performed by cesarean section, involving 25 doctors. The woman gave birth to three girls and two boys.
According to the Berliner Morgenpost newspaper, the mother and the babies are currently in good health. They are under medical supervision and are expected to be discharged home in the coming days.
Specialists at the “Charité” clinic described the birth of quintuplets as a very rare occurrence. According to statistical data, such a pregnancy naturally occurs in only one out of 50 million cases.
The head of the clinic's obstetrics department, Wolfgang Heinrich, commented on the process as follows: “Such births are a major challenge even for experienced doctors. This process requires physical and mental preparation, as well as teamwork.” Germany has implemented a comprehensive system of financial support by the state for families with children.
The child allowance, called “Kindergeld,” is paid monthly to parents with children. According to the 2024 standards, the allowance is set at 219 euros for the first and second child, 225 euros for the third child, and 250 euros for the fourth and subsequent children.
This payment continues until the child turns 18, and if the child continues studying or is seeking employment, it is extended up to 21 years. Thus, this birth in Berlin is not only a medical achievement but also a vivid example of the attention and support provided to families in Germany.
