
The new mayor of New York City, Zoran Mamdani, recommended trying manty at the "Tashkent" restaurant in Brooklyn during a conversation with a young journalist. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This interview was published by the press center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan. During the conversation, the young journalist asked the mayor to name three important dishes.
In response, Zoran Mamdani first mentioned the Hyderabad Zaiqa restaurant. He noted that this restaurant is located on 28th Street and emphasized that the halim dish there is very delicious.
Additionally, the mayor added that he recently tried manty at the "Tashkent" restaurant in South Brooklyn and that its taste was amazing, especially the meat manty, which is a dish worth trying. It is known that in the mayoral election held on November 4, Democratic Party candidate Zoran Mamdani won.
The 34-year-old politician managed to surpass his rivals — Democrat Andrew Cuomo and Republican Curtis Sliwa. He was recorded as the youngest mayor in New York's history in the last hundred years.
Furthermore, Zoran Mamdani became the first Muslim and the first city leader of South Asian descent in the largest megapolis of the United States.
