
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has agreed to consider a new diplomatic initiative proposed by the United States aimed at ending the war with Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This information was announced by the head of state's press service on November 20. According to Zelenskiy, the proposed roadmap includes a number of principles important for Ukraine, and cooperation with the US has been agreed upon based on these principles.
According to a statement from the President's office, Zelenskiy outlined the main directions taking into account the interests of the people, and at the end of the meeting, it was agreed to work on issues that would contribute to ending the war. Zelenskiy plans to communicate with the US president in the near future to discuss the necessary conditions for achieving peace.
On November 20, Zelenskiy received a high-ranking military delegation of the US Armed Forces. The delegation was led by US Army Secretary Den Driscoll.
There have been reports in the press that American military personnel might pressure Zelenskiy to agree to the peace plan proposed by Washington. Although the US peace plan has not been officially announced yet, its main outlines have been revealed through the media.
According to Western publications, Washington demands that Ukraine temporarily relinquish some parts of its eastern territories, reduce its armed forces, and cease using certain military systems. Additionally, The Telegraph noted that Russia might compensate Ukraine in exchange for controlling Donbass.
According to Reuters, the US presidential administration presented Zelenskiy with a new peace plan consisting of 28 points. This document envisages directions such as ensuring peace for Ukraine, strengthening security, supporting stability in Europe, and establishing new diplomatic relations between Moscow and Kyiv.
At the same time, reports have emerged about secret negotiations between the US and Russia regarding the Ukraine issue. It was noted that Ukraine and European Union countries did not participate in these negotiations.
Berlin and Brussels emphasize the necessity of involving Kyiv and the European Union in such initiatives. In conclusion, the ongoing process in Kyiv is of significant importance not only for Ukraine but also for the security of the entire Europe.
President Zelenskiy specifically emphasized that all decisions must align with the interests of the people.
