Russian President Vladimir Putin commented on the peace plan for Ukraine proposed by the administration of former US President Donald Trump. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to him, this document could serve as an important foundation for resolving the long-standing conflict between Russia and Ukraine through diplomatic means. Putin stated that Russia has officially received the plan, but detailed discussions with Moscow have not yet taken place.
He emphasized that the reason for this is that the Ukrainian government has not yet agreed to the terms of the plan. According to the president, although this plan could form the basis for a future peace agreement, the consent of the Ukrainian side is necessary.
Putin also noted that Kyiv and its European partners still hold the mistaken belief that Russia can be defeated on the battlefield. He stressed that this position is far from the real situation and that such an approach is not based on objective information.
Earlier, foreign publications had reported on this plan. Although the document is considered a draft, its content has been confirmed by US and Ukrainian sources.
The plan envisages certain concessions regarding Ukraine's territorial and military capabilities. This has caused sharp objections from some European countries, as they view these conditions as a threat to Ukraine's security.
Meanwhile, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has expressed readiness to work technically with Washington on the new plan. According to him, Ukraine strives for peace, but national interests and the dignity of the people must come first.
Debates around this plan, which has sparked intense discussions in the global political arena, continue. Each clause of the document clearly affects not only Ukraine's future but also European security directly.
Therefore, reaching an agreement on this matter is expected to be difficult.
