US President Donald Trump has set a deadline of November 27 for Kyiv to make a decision on the peace plan aimed at ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In an interview with Fox News, Trump emphasized that a clear response on this important issue is expected by Thanksgiving. According to him, this deadline is the most favorable time to turn negotiations into a real agreement.
Trump also drew attention to the complex situation in Ukraine, noting the challenges facing the country. Ukraine is confronting the risk of territorial losses, a reduction in international aid, and the difficulties of the upcoming winter.
According to reports in the US media, if Kyiv rejects the peace plan, Washington may consider limiting military assistance. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky addressed the nation, emphasizing that Ukraine is currently at a very critical stage.
He stated that Kyiv is striving to achieve peace while preserving sovereignty and dignity, and that all proposals are being thoroughly discussed. Zelensky noted ongoing consultations with the US and European countries and that a 28-point plan is under review.
Additionally, the Ukrainian leader said he held meetings with the US Vice President and Pentagon representatives to exchange views on important aspects of the plan. He stressed that Kyiv maintains a firm position on the peace issue.
The Russian side confirmed that it has accepted the plan proposed by the US but stated that the contents of its provisions have not been discussed. According to Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov, they have not yet officially approved the document.
According to media reports, the US plan demands territorial concessions from Ukraine, reduction of its army, and guarantees not to join NATO. European countries, on the other hand, require that Ukraine’s sovereignty and defense capabilities remain unrestricted.
Kyiv has clearly defined its position, declaring it will not compromise on issues related to territorial integrity and military capacity. Ukraine is ready for peace but firmly insists that sovereignty and independence are not subjects for negotiation.
The coming days are expected to be crucial for the region. As US pressure intensifies, negotiations are also becoming more active on the Russian and European sides.
Ukraine is undergoing one of the most complex geopolitical and social trials.
