The German government officially lifted the arms embargo on Israel in August. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the DPA news agency, this decision will take effect on November 24. Government spokesperson Stefan Kornelius stated that restrictions on certain types of weapons have lost their relevance in today's geopolitical situation.
The main reason for this decision was the ceasefire agreement between Israel and HAMAS, which came into effect on October 10. Kornelius added that the decision was made considering the relative stabilization of the situation in the region.
Earlier, military actions in the Gaza Strip had caused serious protests in Germany. These actions were described by the public as genocide.
For this reason, the government temporarily halted arms deliveries to Israel. Now, after analyzing the situation, Berlin officials have decided to lift the restrictions.
