The Gramota.ru portal presented a list of the most important and popular expressions of the year. This list includes several words characteristic of youth slang and internet culture.
Among the candidates, the following expressions stand out: "pupupu" (an interjection used when feeling awkward or at a loss for words), "red-flag" (a worrying or warning sign), "sigma" (a term representing an independent person), "imba" (something excessively good or powerful), "slop" (low-quality or bad content), "breynrot" (being fixated on only one meme or idea), and "prompt" (a task for artificial intelligence). Additionally, concepts such as "zoomers," "yoritmoq" (to illuminate), "namoyonlik" (manifestation), "charchasash" (to get tired), and "limb" are also among the favorites.
According to the organizers, these words and expressions frequently appeared throughout the year on social networks, memes, and news, reflecting the overall spirit of 2025. The winning word will be reviewed by linguists and then officially announced.
