On May 19, Thursday morning, a horrific incident occurred at the market in the partially Russia-controlled city of Aleshki in the Kherson region. According to the governor appointed by Russia, Vladimir Saldo, the market was attacked by Ukrainian Armed Forces using FPV drones.
Official reports indicate that at least 7 people were killed, and more than 20 others were injured. Saldo emphasized that after the first wave of the attack, drones were launched again while assistance was being provided to the wounded. He described this as an "attempt to deliberately eliminate survivors."
Although videos and photos circulated via Telegram captured the scene, there is no information to accurately confirm the scale of the attack.
Sources from “Agentstvo.Novosti” and the Conflict Intelligence Team stated that these images do not confirm in any way that the attack was carried out by the Ukrainian side. "It is not clear that the attack was on a large scale. It is impossible to draw a definitive conclusion about which side carried out the attack," the publication states.
Ukrainian officials have not yet made any official statements regarding this tragedy.
The most pressing question remains: was this really an attack carried out by the Ukrainian side, or is it yet another piece of misinformation within the information war?
