Negotiations between the US and Ukraine held in Florida have concluded. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Wall Street Journal, citing sources within the US administration, several important issues related to the Ukraine conflict remained unresolved during the talks. In particular, no clear agreement was reached regarding security guarantees for Kyiv and the commitments of the US and its allies.
The negotiations lasted five hours and were described by participants as "complex but productive." During the meeting, possible territorial agreements between Kyiv and Moscow were discussed, including the issue of defining post-war borders with Russia.
The most difficult issue remained the international recognition of territories annexed by Russia. The talks were held at a resort belonging to US President’s special envoy Steve Witkoff.
High-ranking officials such as US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and presidential advisor Jared Kushner participated. Former US President Donald Trump, commenting on the negotiations, emphasized that there is a "real opportunity" to reach an agreement.
Trump, who evaluated the results of the meeting positively, expressed views contrary to official reports. Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that the negotiations addressed not only the cessation of military actions but also other important topics.
According to him, the foundation established in previous talks in Geneva was further developed this time. Among the issues discussed were the schedule of elections in Ukraine and territorial agreements.
