Austrian entrepreneur wants to buy "Lukoil" assets

Austrian businessman Bernd Bergmayr plans to purchase the foreign assets of Russia's "Lukoil" company. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This information was reported by the Reuters news agency. Bergmayr has applied to the US Department of the Treasury regarding this matter.

The businessman confirmed his interest in the deal but refused to provide detailed information. "I will not comment on potential investments," he stated through his lawyer.

Among Lukoil's foreign assets are oil and gas fields in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, and other countries. Additionally, the company owns a network of fuel stations worldwide.

Bernd Bergmayr previously owned the MindGeek company. This company managed adult websites such as PornHub, RedTube, and YouPorn.

In 2023, he sold MindGeek to a Canadian investment company, but the deal amount was not disclosed. It is worth noting that Gunvor company and the UAE's state company Adnoc had previously shown interest in Lukoil's assets.

In particular, Adnoc has paid special attention to assets in Uzbekistan.
