In the city of Miami, representatives of the United States and Ukraine are discussing a peace plan to stop the war initiated by Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to the Axios publication, a series of proposals on gradually easing the conflict were discussed during meetings held on Friday. The Ukrainian delegation is led by Rustem Umerov, Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council, and Chief of the General Staff Andrey Gnatov.
They held a two-hour dialogue yesterday with U.S. special representatives Steven Witkoff and Jared Kushner. The talks were noted to have taken place in a "positive spirit."
Today's meetings are ongoing, and another stage is planned for Saturday. The dialogue between Witkoff and Kushner and the Ukrainian delegation follows a five-hour meeting held in Moscow with Russian representatives.
According to statements from the Moscow side, there appears to be no possibility of reaching a compromise on the peace issue. For this reason, the talks in Miami are regarded as an important stage aimed at easing the contradictions in the positions of both sides.
U.S. representatives presented the Ukrainian partners with details of the Moscow talks and new proposals. It is emphasized that these proposals may help overcome the conflicts.
At the same time, although there are differences in the official statements of Ukraine and Russia, the U.S. believes there is a possibility of reaching a compromise on territorial issues. The talks in Miami are under the attention of the international community and play an important role in determining the future direction of the war.
