American activist Sam Kirshner, who has been actively involved in efforts to restrict artificial intelligence, has been missing for two weeks. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to "Atlantic" publication, he is one of the founders of the Stop AI group, which demanded a halt to the development of artificial superintelligence. Kirshner initially emphasized his opposition to violence, but later abandoned this principle.
For this reason, he was expelled from the group. According to Stop AI leader Matthew Hall, Kirshner argued with team members at recent meetings, and even disputes arose over financial matters.
This situation led group members to contact the police. In February, Kirshner was summoned to court for participating in a protest blocking the OpenAI office, but he did not appear at the appointed time.
When his home was entered, the door was open, the bicycle was missing, but the phone and laptop were left in place. This circumstance makes the case even more mysterious.
According to the San Francisco Standard, the police noted that Kirshner had been warned twice about threatening OpenAI employees. His acquaintances speculate that he might be hiding in a tent.
This incident occurs at a time when debates around artificial intelligence are intensifying, and countries are strengthening control over the internet and digital space.
