
A very tragic road traffic incident occurred in the center of Stuttgart, Germany. On the evening of May 2, several people were hit by a car on the pedestrian walkway near the Olgaeck tram stop.
Time and location of the tragedy
The incident took place around 17:50 local time (20:50 Tashkent time). A black G-class "Mercedes" car driven by a 42-year-old driver crashed into a crowd of people.
Injured and victims
According to DPA agency, at least 8 people were injured, with three of them reported to be in serious condition. Emergency resuscitation measures were carried out on one person at the scene.
It was officially confirmed that a 46-year-old woman died in the hospital due to severe injuries.
Driver arrested
The German police have arrested the accused driver. His identity is known — a 42-year-old German citizen. An investigation has been initiated to assess his actions accurately.

Law enforcement agencies are currently assessing this incident as a "tragic road traffic accident." An official statement was made regarding the rumors circulating on social media:
"Currently, there are no signs of an attack or deliberate actions," the police stated in their social media reports.
Station closed, traffic halted
Traffic has been halted around the Olgaeck station until the investigation and technical inspection are completed. Emergency medical services, fire services, and police forces were deployed to the scene.
