
Russian President Vladimir Putin will make an official visit to Ashgabat, the capital of Turkmenistan, on December 11–12. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The Kremlin press service provided information about this visit. Putin’s visit is connected with events held on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of Turkmenistan’s international neutrality status, as well as participation in a major forum dedicated to the International Year of Peace and Trust.
Several heads of state and representatives of international organizations have also been invited to this forum. At the forum in Ashgabat, issues of regional security, diplomatic cooperation, energy, transport, and economic relations development will be discussed.
Additionally, during the visit, it is planned to review agreements on strengthening strategic partnership between Russia and Turkmenistan, developing trade and economic cooperation, hydropower projects, and transport corridors.
