The word of 2025 was chosen as "zumer"

The most important word of 2025 was chosen as "zumer." This was reported by Zamin.uz.

This result was announced by the "Gramota.ru" portal based on a survey conducted among linguists. During the survey, the words "yonish" (burn) and "qizil bayroq" (red flag) also took high positions.

They managed to gather 38% and 37% of the votes respectively. A total of 469 linguists from 23 scientific and educational institutions in Russia participated in the study.

This process allowed taking into account the opinions of specialists of different ages and scientific schools. The word selection was carried out based on a thorough and multi-stage methodology.

Initially, new words that were not yet recorded in dictionaries but were widely used were selected. Later, "one-day" words that were temporarily popular but whose significance might decline were excluded through statistical analysis.

During the competition, words such as "chushpan," "kvadrober," and "labubu" were discarded. As a result, the word "zumer" was recognized as the symbolic word of 2025.

This process served to study new trends in linguistics and to identify words that may be used in the future.
