US President Donald Trump announced that the list of countries that will join the Gaza Peace Council is planned to be finalized and announced in January 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The statement was made at an event held at the White House on December 9, 2025. According to Trump, many leading countries around the world have shown interest in this council established within the framework of Gaza peace.
“This will be one of the most important councils in history, and we see that everyone wants to participate in it,” Trump said. According to the resolution adopted by the UN Security Council on November 17, 2025, member states of the Peace Council are authorized to form International Stabilization Forces and deploy them to Gaza.
The main task of this council will be to restore Gaza and determine its development direction. The resolution states that the council’s activities will continue until the Palestinian Authority successfully completes its reform program and is capable of managing Gaza safely and effectively.
Currently, a peace process between Israel and Hamas is underway with the help of international mediators. The second phase of the peace process is planned to begin after the bodies remaining in Gaza are found and returned by Hamas.
This process is expected to be an important step towards strengthening stability in the region.
