New collaboration ties have been established between OpenAI and Walt Disney companies. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Within the framework of this agreement, OpenAI and Disney signed a three-year licensing contract. Through this contract, users of ChatGPT Images and Sora platforms will have the opportunity to depict and create videos featuring over 200 popular characters from the worlds of Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars.
Additionally, Walt Disney company is set to invest 1 billion dollars in OpenAI. This information was announced on OpenAI’s official website.
According to the contract, Walt Disney company will become the first major partner to license content for video creation on the Sora platform. Videos created by users on this platform will be presented to audiences via the Disney+ service.
The Walt Disney Company CEO Robert A. Iger said about this collaboration: “Technological innovations fundamentally transform the entertainment industry and open doors to new opportunities. Collaboration with OpenAI allows us to develop creativity with generative artificial intelligence, respect and protect the work of creators.” The first videos are planned to be presented from the beginning of 2026 or around that time.
They will feature popular characters such as Mickey Mouse, Cinderella, Simba, and Mufasa. However, this agreement does not affect the use of the appearance and voices of actors from Disney studios.
OpenAI CEO Sam Altman said: “Disney is a world-class leader in storytelling. We are excited to provide users with the opportunity to create amazing content through the Sora and ChatGPT Images platforms.”
