Ukrainian forces encircled Russian troops in Kupyansk
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy stood near the stele located close to the city of Kupyansk in the Kharkiv region on December 12 and issued a video address. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

He announced that he personally came to congratulate the military personnel who carried out successful military operations in this area. In his address, the President said: “Today you witnessed the activities of our military personnel achieving an important result for Ukraine in the Kupyansk direction.

Russia talked a lot about this area, and we are showing the result. I congratulated our military and expressed my gratitude to them.”

On the same day, Ukrainian defense forces carried out a successful counterattack around Kupyansk and managed to encircle Russian troops in the city. According to the National Guard’s “Khartiya” reconnaissance-strike group, they operated in several directions, cutting off the logistics of Russian forces.

Igor Obolenskiy, commander of the 2nd corps of “Khartiya,” commented on the situation, emphasizing that Russian troops are completely encircled in the city and are now realizing this situation. Additionally, Kondrashovka village and its surrounding areas, Radkovka village, and some areas north of Kupyansk have been fully liberated.

The command reported that Russian forces are mobilizing reserves and attempting to break through the defense, but these attempts are failing. It was also noted that foreign fighters from Syria and African countries are participating in the battles.

During operations conducted by “Khartiya” units, significant losses were inflicted on Russian troops. According to the information, 1,027 Russian soldiers were killed, 291 wounded, and 13 captured.

Although fighting continues in the center of Kupyansk city, the full liberation of the city is expected. The DeepState OSINT project map also confirmed that the northwestern part of Kupyansk has been cleared of Russian military forces.
