Ukraine struck Russian ships in the Caspian Sea
The Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) unit, in cooperation with the rebel group named "Chernaya Iskra," launched an attack on two Russian vessels in the Caspian Sea. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

These ships are known as “Kompozitor Rakhmaninov” and “Askar-Saridja,” and have been sanctioned by the United States for their involvement in transporting military cargo and cooperating with Iran. According to information, the attack took place on December 12 near the shores of the Republic of Kalmykia.

The ships are said to have been carrying weapons and military equipment used against Ukraine in the war. The UAF statement noted that the rebel group provided detailed information about the ships' routes and cargo.

No precise information has been given about the consequences of the attack, and Russian officials have not commented on the incident. Ukrainian military emphasized that during special operations, they are employing asymmetric methods to reduce the military capabilities of the Russian army.

Additionally, the “Alpha” special unit of the Ukrainian Security Service (SBU) struck the Filanovsky oil platform in the Caspian Sea using long-range drones. This platform belongs to the “Lukoil-Nizhnevolzhskneft” company, and its operations were halted as a result of the attack.

According to SBU representatives, this is the first attack by Ukraine on Russia’s oil extraction infrastructure in the Caspian Sea. These actions indicate that the conflict between Ukraine and Russia has entered a new phase.
