India and Uzbekistan: cooperation towards a green future
India is directing its approach to sustainable development towards inclusive growth and the interests of future generations. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

Today's world is interconnected, and the problems of each nation affect others. Therefore, international cooperation and dialogue are of great importance in solving global issues.

India views sustainable development not as a choice but as a strategic necessity and promotes its initiatives through public diplomacy. India actively collaborates with the international community on climate justice, shared responsibility, and environmental protection.

In particular, based on the principle of "Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam," seeing the world as one family, it strives for sustainable growth. Initiatives like Mission LiFE focus on reducing waste in daily life, efficient use of resources, and promoting a green lifestyle.

India's initiatives in this area yield positive results not only domestically but also internationally. India's efforts in international cooperation, including projects within organizations such as BRICS, SCO, and G20, are noteworthy.

For example, initiatives like the Global Bioenergy Alliance and the International Solar Alliance are aimed at developing clean energy and green technologies. Additionally, India's active participation in disaster mitigation strengthens solidarity among Global South countries.

Uzbekistan is also implementing strategic initiatives aimed at sustainable development. The country aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 35% by 2030, recycle over 65% of household waste, and implement the "Green Space" project.

These initiatives are the result of a firm commitment to addressing global climate issues under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. Academic cooperation between India and Uzbekistan is also noteworthy.

It is encouraging that cooperation has begun between Samarkand State University and the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee, in agriculture and climate-resilient farming. The collaboration between these two countries on sustainable development serves as an important factor in ensuring a green future for the region and beyond.

The views of Ms. Smita Pant, India's ambassador to Uzbekistan, open new dimensions of cooperation and call for joint work on the path to sustainable development.
