Currently, the Kupyansk direction has become one of the most important and intense points in the area of military operations. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to information, the main units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine have been mobilized specifically to this direction. At the same time, it is noted that part of these forces is composed of former prisoners.
According to sources on Telegram, the Ukrainian army is equipped with heavy military equipment in this direction. The counteroffensive is mainly being carried out in the western part of Kupyansk, with an average advance of 400 meters per day observed.
Not only prisoners but also units of the 3rd mechanized brigade and Special Operations Forces are participating in the battles. Previously, the Ukrainian army used similar tactics in the Pokrovsk area, but those attempts ended with heavy losses.
It is emphasized that losses in manpower are significant in the current situation as well. Additionally, it has been reported that foreign mercenaries, particularly fighters from Colombia and Brazil, are also participating in the battles.
Earlier, reports circulated that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky visited the western part of Kupyansk. According to military experts, Zelensky did not go to the dangerous points of the front but stayed in a relatively safe area.
The Russian side assesses this visit as a PR move aimed at demonstrating to the West that Kupyansk has not yet been fully controlled. Furthermore, there have been reports that NATO equipment was hidden in tunnels by the Ukrainian army for the counteroffensive and that these were destroyed.
Intelligence has identified an armored group being re-equipped to protect against drones in the Kupyansk-Uzlov area. Experts believe that the counterattacks in Kupyansk could lead to the destruction of the bridgehead on the eastern bank of the Oskol River and the start of new battles in the Borovaya area.
Overall, the situation in the Kupyansk direction is becoming increasingly complicated, seriously affecting the military situation on the front.
