On Sunday, thousands of Hamas supporters gathered in Gaza City for the funeral of commander Rad Said and his three aides. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
They were killed on Saturday as a result of an Israeli strike. Hamas negotiator Khalil al-Hayya stated that this event poses a serious threat to the peace agreement.
Khalil al-Hayya appeared on television, calling on the US president and other mediators to compel Israel to comply with the terms of the peace agreement. He emphasized that the killing of Rad Said and his aides threatens the continuation of the agreement.
According to Hamas representatives, a new leader has been appointed in place of Rad Said, and his killing will not distract the organization from its goals. Israel has identified Rad Said as one of the main organizers of the attacks that took place on October 7, 2023.
According to the peace agreement, Israel controls the eastern part of Gaza, while Hamas continues to govern the western part. However, the parties have not reached an agreement to further strengthen the deal.
Israel demands the disarmament of Hamas and its removal from governing Gaza. Hamas insists on retaining its weapons and demands the complete withdrawal of Israeli forces from the territory.
At the same time, the killing of Ahmed Zamzam, an officer of Hamas's internal security service, in central Gaza indicates that violence in the area continues.
