A woman living in Bishkek lost 43 thousand US dollars trusting the words of a fortune teller in order to develop her business. This was reported by Caravan info.
According to the information, a citizen named O.G. was a victim of a woman who introduced herself as a fortune teller from May until the end of October.
The fortune teller offered to conduct various ceremonies saying “I will bring luck to your business.” She demanded the money to be buried in a cemetery, and the use of thread, needles, and other “magical items.”
As a result, the fortune teller, abusing trust, obtained a large amount of money and disappeared. Officers of the Internal Affairs Department of the First May district of Bishkek managed to arrest a woman named M.K., born in 2000.
She is currently placed in a temporary detention facility.
A criminal case has been initiated under Article 209 of the Criminal Code of Kyrgyzstan — fraud. The investigation is ongoing.
The conclusion is that believing in “magic” leads to serious mistakes. One should rely not on luck, but on intelligence and vigilance.
