Amazon corporation plans to invest $10 billion in the major artificial intelligence company OpenAI. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was reported by the Reuters news agency. Currently, negotiations between the parties are at an initial stage, and the exact terms of the agreement have not yet been officially confirmed.
OpenAI values itself at $1 trillion and is preparing to carry out an initial public offering (IPO). If this deal is completed, OpenAI will be able to use Amazon’s Trainium artificial intelligence chips to train neural networks.
Currently, these chips are actively used by large technology companies such as Databricks, Ricoh, and NinjaTech AI. This indicates that Amazon is actively promoting its artificial intelligence infrastructure in the market.
Additionally, OpenAI is exploring the possibility of offering the corporate version of ChatGPT to Amazon. However, no definite decision has yet been made regarding the full integration of the chatbot into Amazon’s service system.
It is worth recalling that previously Microsoft acquired a 27 percent stake in OpenAI and gained the exclusive right to provide artificial intelligence models to customers through its cloud platforms. This situation has further intensified competition in the artificial intelligence market.
According to experts, if Amazon also makes a significant investment in OpenAI, the balance of power in the global artificial intelligence market could reach a new level.
