A new regulation will come into effect in Armenia starting from September 1, 2026. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
Now, a one-time payment of 500,000 drams (approximately 1300 US dollars) will be set for each newborn child. This was reported by the publication “Armenia Today.”
This decision was made at an extraordinary session of the parliament. Under the previous system, the amount of allowance varied depending on the number of children in the family.
For example, 300,000 drams (786 dollars) were paid for the first and second child, 1 million drams (2600 dollars) for the third and fourth child, and 1.5 million drams (3900 dollars) for the fifth and subsequent children. According to the new regulation, the same amount of payment will be introduced for all children, which serves to simplify the system.
Additionally, the permanent support program for large families will remain in effect. According to it, families with a third and subsequent child born between 2022 and 2025 will receive 50,000 drams (131 dollars) per month.
This payment will continue until the child reaches six years of age. The new legislation also provides a legal basis for continuing these payments for children born after January 1, 2026.
Furthermore, China has announced plans to cover all medical expenses related to childbirth from the state budget starting in 2026 to encourage births.
