Cases of seasonal flu are sharply increasing in Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to experts, currently one out of every 100 people across the country is infected with the flu virus. In some regions, the number of patients has nearly doubled within a week.
Doctors and epidemiologists are monitoring the situation and report that the peak of the epidemic is still ahead. This autumn-winter season, the Hong Kong flu (A/H3N2) is recorded as the most widespread virus type.
This virus is considered dangerous due to its high contagiousness, rapid development, and serious complications. Especially at risk are pregnant women, young children, the elderly, and people with chronic illnesses.
The Hong Kong flu is an acute viral disease that primarily affects the respiratory tract. The illness manifests with high fever, muscle pain, headache, and severe weakness.
Sometimes nausea, loss of appetite, and digestive system disorders are also observed. This flu strain was first identified in Hong Kong in 1968.
Currently, it continues to spread in various regions of the world in a mutated form. Doctors urge the public to pay serious attention to their health, seek medical help immediately upon the appearance of flu symptoms, and follow preventive measures.
