On December 19, 2023, a major press conference dedicated to the results of the year was held in Moscow with the participation of Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This open dialogue lasted nearly 4.5 hours, during which the head of state answered various questions from citizens and journalists. Throughout the event, a number of issues related to security, war, peace, and society were discussed.
Putin addressed the use of drones on the front, acknowledging that the Russian army lacks some heavy drones of the adversary. However, overall, he emphasized that Russian forces have superiority in the number of drones and their use across all directions of the front.
He also stated that the conscription process is proceeding according to plan and that there is a large number of volunteers wishing to serve under contract. Last year, more than 400,000 citizens signed contracts, with particular interest growing in newly established drone units.
Even students are active as drone operators during their holidays in these units. Modern technologies allow for remote service provision.
Answering a question about his movements around the streets of Moscow, Putin said that sometimes he moves without police escort, using this to observe city life and the environment. On the topic of peace, he emphasized that Russia wants to live peacefully without military conflicts next year and supports resolving disputes through negotiations.
In response to a question about a possible blockade of the Kaliningrad region, Putin said that if such a threat arises, the response will be tough. He warned that such actions could lead to new and dangerous conflicts.
Regarding NATO and the USA, Putin called the USA the main player of the alliance and expressed skepticism about statements claiming that NATO is preparing for war against Russia. On spirituality, the president emphasized that God is one and that people’s division into different churches is their personal choice.
He also criticized occultism, satanism, and witchcraft, noting that such activities can harm society. Overall, this conference covered broad topics such as security, peace, and spirituality, clearly demonstrating Russia’s position in both domestic and foreign policy once again.
