US President Donald Trump and nine major pharmaceutical companies have reached an agreement to reduce drug prices. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This agreement applies to the population receiving government assistance and those purchasing drugs with cash. According to the agreement, the prices of many drugs sold through the Medicaid program will be lowered.
Some drugs will be offered to people directly with significant discounts. The aim is to bring drug prices in the US closer to the levels of other developed countries.
According to officials, the price of some drugs may decrease by up to 70% compared to the current level. In return, companies will be exempt from additional tariffs and restrictions for three years.
Additionally, it is guaranteed that new drugs will not be more expensive in the US than in other developed countries. The government plans to significantly reduce drug expenses through this agreement.
Pharmaceutical companies have also announced that they will allocate substantial funds for production and scientific research in the US. This agreement is considered an important step in reducing drug prices.
