China is conducting large-scale military exercises around Taiwan. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
On Wednesday, missile strikes and military drills began on the Taiwan side. During these exercises, assault ships capable of going out to sea, bomber aircraft, and other military vessels were deployed around the island.
China is carrying out these activities with the aim of practicing encirclement and control of the island. According to official reports, live-fire exercises will continue in five areas until 6:00 PM.
During the military operations, naval and air forces are practicing strikes on various targets and actions against submarines. Taiwanese officials are closely monitoring the possibility that missiles launched by China may pass over the island.
Taiwanese President Lai Ching-te described China's actions as "contrary to the responsibility of a major power." Taiwan's military has stated its readiness to defend the island but is refraining from further escalating the situation.
It has been noted that debris from explosions fell within a 24 nautical mile radius in Taiwan's territory as a result of the exercises. Approximately $2.45 trillion worth of trade passes through Taiwan annually.
The island's air routes are an important transport corridor connecting China with East and Southeast Asian countries. For this reason, it is emphasized that China's military exercises were organized to test the encirclement and blockade of Taiwan.
