Former US President Donald Trump described Somalia as one of the most problematic and corrupt countries in the world. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He emphasized the necessity of returning Somali immigrants to their homeland, expressing his opinion on his Truth Social social media page. According to Trump, a large portion of financial fraud occurring in the state of Minnesota — approximately 90 percent — is linked to the illegal activities of Somali citizens.
In his statement, Trump made harsh remarks about Somalia, calling it "the worst and most corrupt country on Earth." He noted that Somali immigrants should be sent back to their country of origin.
It is known that during his first presidency, Trump made a decision to restrict the entry of Somali citizens into the US. However, later Joe Biden lifted these restrictions.
During his second term, Trump attempted to reinstate this ban and add other countries to the list. Additionally, there have been reports that in recent years the US has conducted several airstrikes in Somalia against armed groups linked to ISIS as part of counterterrorism efforts.
Trump's statements like these have sparked various debates.
