Due to heavy snowfall in the mountainous areas of Japan, more than 100 people were temporarily forced to spend the night in a shrine. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
After the roads around Mitsumine Shrine in Saitama Prefecture were closed due to snow, approximately 130 people found shelter in the shrine's hall. According to local authorities, among those staying in the shrine, there are also over 50 vehicle owners.
No one was injured or fell ill during the incident. In some areas, snow accumulation is expected to reach 40 centimeters.
In the last three days, snow depth in some places has been recorded up to 80 centimeters. Due to ongoing cold weather, additional snowfall is possible.
Mitsumine Shrine is located at an altitude of 1110 meters above sea level, and this area is known for cold weather and heavy snowfall in winter. Due to icy roads and vehicle skidding, traffic has been suspended.
