Maduro and his wife charged with serious accusations in the US

US officials have filed serious charges against Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to US Attorney General Pam Bondi, they have been charged with crimes including narco-terrorism, cocaine smuggling, illegal possession of firearms, and involvement in a plot to use explosive devices and machine guns against the United States. This case is being heard in the Southern District Court of New York.
Prosecutor Bondi emphasized that Nicolas Maduro and his wife will answer to the US justice system in the coming days. She also expressed gratitude to President Donald Trump for taking firm measures in this matter.
It was also noted that the US armed forces successfully conducted an operation to capture Maduro and Flores. Officials are evaluating this event as one of the largest international drug trafficking-related arrests.
Additionally, on January 3, the US confirmed it struck several military facilities in Caracas, Venezuela's capital, including an airbase and other strategic points. President Donald Trump announced that as a result of this "large-scale operation," Maduro and his wife were captured and removed from the country.
The European Union stated that it is closely monitoring the situation and maintains its previous position that Maduro's government is not legitimate. This event is attracting significant attention from the international community.
