Photos and videos published in the US media reportedly show the moments when Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro and his wife Cilia Flores were brought to the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
According to reports, Maduro was brought to New York by a military plane from a US aircraft carrier located in the Caribbean Sea. This was reported by "Kursiv.uz".
The footage shows Maduro being taken off the plane at a military base in New York. It is noted that the president had handcuffs on his hands, chains on his feet, and a hood covering his head.
He was escorted by US security forces. According to information, after landing, Maduro and his wife were transferred to a helicopter and taken to the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) building in Manhattan.
During a brief interaction with journalists, Maduro said, "Good night and Happy New Year." Also, videos reportedly aired on Fox News circulated on social media.
They show Maduro being brought into the agency. Earlier, reports stated that he was arrested during a special operation and initially taken to the US aircraft carrier named "Iwo Jima" in the Caribbean Sea.
According to media reports, the US side is prosecuting Nicolas Maduro on charges related to drug trafficking. The trial is expected to begin soon.
For now, Maduro is planned to be held in a federal detention center in Brooklyn.
