China: "No country is the world's referee"

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi responded to the actions of the United States regarding the arrest of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
He emphasized that no country should present itself as the "world's referee." Wang Yi expressed these views during a meeting with the Pakistani Foreign Minister.
According to him, the sovereignty and security of all countries must be respected in accordance with international rules. He described the recent events in Venezuela as an "unexpected situation."
Currently, Nicolas Maduro is being held in custody in the United States. He has been charged with involvement in drug trafficking, and the trial is expected to begin soon.
US President Donald Trump stated that the governance of Venezuela would temporarily be under US control. Chinese officials view Maduro's arrest as a negative development.
This is because in recent years, China has actively maintained trade relations with Venezuela. In particular, in 2024, China purchased a large amount of oil from Venezuela.
Therefore, this situation may cause economic and political difficulties for China.
