Maduro detained, control strengthened in Venezuela

After the US special forces announced the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, the situation in the country’s capital Caracas changed dramatically. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
It is said that the temporary head of state is Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, and the governance system has been placed under strict control. Increased security measures on the streets, more patrols, establishment of checkpoints, and intensified inspections have been observed.
According to foreign sources, temporary leadership in the country is concentrated in Rodriguez’s hands. In Caracas and other major cities, stopping passengers, checking vehicles, and even monitoring phones have become widespread.
Officials say these measures are aimed at identifying individuals who assisted the US operation. There are also reports of some opposition activists and journalists being detained.
Notably, alongside the military and police, armed groups known as colectivos are also participating in the patrols. These groups are recognized as supporters of the government and have previously been linked to the use of force against the opposition.
Colectivos are often viewed as a collection of independent, decentralized groups. Their role is to protect the state, establish control on the streets, and suppress dissenting moods.
In the current situation, their activity signals strong control and restrictions in society. The increased security measures around the Miraflores Palace in central Caracas also indicate this.
President Maduro has reportedly been appearing more frequently recently at the Fuerte Tiuna military base in the southern part of the capital. At the same time, excessive control within the country has led to misunderstandings.
For example, shots were fired at drones flying near Miraflores, but it was later determined that they belonged to the police. Such incidents highlight how complex and tense the situation is.
While the Venezuelan diaspora abroad welcomed Maduro’s capture with joy, such sentiment has not been observed inside the country. Many emphasize that the main mechanisms of the regime remain in place and only the leader has changed.
Uncertainty and distrust have become the prevailing moods in society. Although small protests have taken place inside the country, they have occurred in various directions.
Some groups have opposed US intervention. The economic situation remains complicated.
Stores are operating under restrictions, people are panicking and trying to increase their food supplies. Power and water outages, as well as communication problems, have been reported in some areas.
All of this indicates misunderstanding and anxiety about the future among the population. The news of Maduro’s capture is not only a significant event for Venezuela but also for the political balance in the region, with strong control, restrictions, and uncertainty prevailing in the country.
The main question among the population is the same: what will happen tomorrow?
