Pavel Durov: Telegram does not have problems related to sanctions

Telegram founder Pavel Durov commented on an article published in the Financial Times. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The article mentioned that some of Telegram’s securities were blocked due to sanctions. According to Durov, this situation relates to an old issuance from 2021, and these securities have been almost completely closed.
This was reported by kursiv.uz. According to Pavel Durov, Russian investors did not participate in the recent placement conducted by Telegram amounting to 1.7 billion dollars.
He stated that the securities issued in 2021 have mostly been covered and currently do not cause any problems. Durov announced this on his Telegram channel.
According to the KOD.ru publication, Telegram makes payments on bonds through intermediaries. Then these intermediaries distribute the funds among investors.
If someone cannot receive their funds due to sanctions, this situation is not the company's responsibility. Also, the securities issued in 2021 represent debt obligations, not business shares.
Holders of these securities only have the right to receive interest payments and to review financial reports.
