9 babies died at the Novokuznetsk maternity hospital

It was reported that nine newborn babies died within a short period at the No. 1 maternity hospital in Novokuznetsk, Russia. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This incident occurred within just two weeks. According to RIA Novosti, the facility was temporarily closed due to an increase in cases of acute respiratory viral infection (ARVI) among the hospital staff.
The maternity hospital administration announced the suspension of the obstetric inpatient department's activities. It was stated that information about the reopening date will be provided later.
According to TASS agency, the Investigative Committee of Russia's Kemerovo region has initiated an investigation into this incident. Additionally, sanitary and epidemiological assessments and quarantine measures are planned.
According to Russian Health Minister Andrey Tarasov, necessary measures are being taken to fully assess the situation and prevent such incidents. Further official information is expected based on the investigation results.
