The US seized another tanker related to Venezuelan oil

The US has seized another oil tanker linked to Venezuela. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
In the Caribbean Sea, the tanker named “Veronica” was captured by US forces without any resistance. This incident occurred on the eve of a planned meeting between US President Donald Trump and Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado.
The US Navy's Southern Command stated that the seized tanker violated restrictions set for ships sanctioned by the US. The official statement said that only legal and coordinated oil exports from Venezuela are permitted.
The operation took place before dawn, and no serious resistance was observed. It was reported that the “Veronica” tanker, registered under the flag of Guyana, left Venezuelan territorial waters empty in January.
Nevertheless, US officials indicated that the ship may have previously been involved in transporting Venezuelan oil. This is the sixth tanker linked to Venezuela seized by the US in the past month.
The US government is preparing court warrants to seize other tankers involved in Venezuelan oil trade. Previously seized ships mostly sailed under false flags or had been officially deregistered.
Washington states that these measures are being taken to control Venezuelan oil trade and stabilize the situation in the region.
