Iran Ambassador: Trump does not intend to start a war
During his visit to Islamabad, Iran's ambassador to Pakistan, Reza Amiri Mogaddam, made a statement about the political tension between Tehran and the United States. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

According to him, US President Donald Trump has no intention of starting a war against Iran and has asked Tehran to restrain itself as well. This was reported by the media.

According to the diplomat, this information reached him around 1:00 AM. The message stated that Trump does not intend to target Iran but demanded that attacks on US facilities in the region be avoided.

This appeal came after threats of possible military intervention by the US amid protests inside Iran. The ambassador also acknowledged the Iranian citizens' right to peaceful protest and said the government is engaging in dialogue with the demonstrators.

However, he accused Western media of inciting violence and noted that these events are among the most severe in the country's history. According to him, armed groups attacked mosques, causing incidents of arson.

Tehran officials stated that the situation is under control and the protests have ended. However, Iran has maintained a high combat readiness level and temporarily closed its airspace.

The ambassador said that if aggression comes from the US or Israel, Iran is ready to deliver retaliatory strikes on their facilities in the region. Mogaddam expressed gratitude for the cooperation shown to Pakistan.

According to him, under the pressure of 44 years of sanctions, spiritual and political support from Muslim countries is more important for Iran than material aid. It should be recalled that protests intensified in Iran starting December 28 due to the devaluation of the national currency and high inflation.

Initially, strikes began at the Grand Bazaar in Tehran, and later the protests spread to other regions of the country. According to media reports, the number of casualties during these events is estimated to range from hundreds to thousands.

However, it is noted that confirming exact figures is difficult.
