Domodedovo Airport Duty-Free Sale Cancelled

The auction planned for the sale of Domodedovo airport did not take place due to a lack of buyers. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
RBK reported on this. According to sources, only one application was received to participate in the auction.
Although this application was submitted by individual entrepreneur Yevgeniy Bogatiy, it was not accepted for the auction by the commission because he did not provide the necessary documents in full. It is known that in June 2025, according to the decision of the Moscow Region Arbitration Court, Domodedovo airport was transferred to state ownership.
The court found that the airport's beneficiaries were foreign nationals from Turkey, the United Arab Emirates, and Israel. They were accused of managing assets of strategic importance to the country and transferring profits abroad.
This led to a violation of Russian legislation. At the end of last year, Russian Finance Minister Anton Siluanov announced that the auction for the privatization of Domodedovo would be held at the beginning of 2026 and that potential investors had shown interest.
In January, the airport was put up for sale at a price of 132 billion rubles, but so far no buyers have been found.
