The Nipah virus caused the first death in India

According to the information, a woman living in Kolkata fell ill, was hospitalized, but despite all the efforts of the doctors, she passed away. Following this incident, emergency measures are being taken in the country to prevent the spread of the virus.
Specifically, hundreds of citizens have been quarantined, medical supervision has been intensified, and individuals who may have been in contact with the virus are being thoroughly examined. Additionally, precautionary measures are being taken outside of India as well.
For example, the Thai government is conducting strict sanitary control of passengers arriving from India at airports. Passengers are being checked for symptoms characteristic of the virus and, if necessary, placed under medical observation.
