Ahmad ash-Shar’a meets with Putin in Moscow

Ahmad ash-Shar’a is expected to visit Moscow on January 28 to meet with Russian President Vladimir Putin. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
This was announced by a Syria TV news source. The last meeting between the leaders of Russia and Syria took place in October 2025.
During that meeting, the parties discussed issues related to reviewing agreements signed during the tenure of former Syrian President Bashar Assad. Additionally, matters concerning Russia's military bases in Syria were also raised during the negotiations.
During this visit to Moscow, Ahmad ash-Shar’a plans to promote initiatives aimed at further developing the historic ties between the two countries and restoring relations. This meeting is expected to serve to strengthen cooperation between the two states.
