Attack on Niamey airport: ISIS claims responsibility

An armed attack was carried out on the international airport in Niamey, the capital of Niger. This was reported by Zamin.uz.
The BBC news service reported this. According to the information, the incident occurred during the night of January 29.
Reports state that the leader of the military junta that took power in Niger, General Abdourahmane Tchiani, expressed gratitude to Russia for the assistance provided in repelling the attack. At the same time, the general accused France, Benin, and Côte d'Ivoire of planning the attack without providing any evidence.
According to experts, the activity of radical groups in Niger is increasing. It was reported that a group linked to ISIS claimed responsibility for the attack.
Currently, measures are being taken to stabilize the situation.
