Who do scammers call the most?
According to Associate Professor Petr Shcherbachenko from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, two categories of Russians who receive the most calls from scammers have been identified. This was reported by Zamin.uz.

He revealed this in an interview with the RG.RU publication. According to the expert, the first at-risk category consists of citizens aged 35-44 with an income above 50,000 rubles.

The second category includes pensioners over 65 years old. Scammers try to exploit the elderly's trust in official calls and the middle-aged people's interest in additional income.

Shcherbachenko noted that residents of large cities are the main targets for scam calls. According to the data, 16.8% of all scam calls are recorded among Moscow residents, 7% in Krasnodar, 6.3% in Saint Petersburg, 3.5% in Novosibirsk, and 3.2% in Ufa.

He also stated that scammers are usually active in the afternoon, especially between 16:00 and 18:00. The expert added that calls coming from phone numbers not starting with "+7" and through messaging apps can be dangerous.

Scammers often use technology to spoof phone numbers. Therefore, it is necessary to approach such calls with caution.
